FedEx team members come together to support UnidosUS in Las Vegas

UnidosUS Serves as the nation’s largest nonprofit, nonpartisan Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization. Since 1968, UnidosUS has united communities and different groups seeking common ground through collaboration, and who share a desire to make the country stronger.

FedEx is a proud sponsor of the UnidosUS Escalera Programs, a portfolio of educational programs that seeks to promote educational attainment, career planning, and access to information for Latinos. The programs provide Latino youth with opportunities, resources, and support by implementing personal development, along with college and career readiness curricula with a national network of community-based organizations and charter schools. Through the expansion of career pathway opportunities, students explore entrepreneurship as a viable opportunity for economic mobility.

In late July FedEx team members attended the annual UnidosUS Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jose Touzon Aguilera, VP, Customer Ops Technology, FedEx Supply Chain and the Executive Sponsor of the SOMOS Employee Resource Group, gave opening remarks at this year’s Affiliate Leadership Breakfast. “At FedEx, with over 550,000 employees serving 220 countries and territories around the world, we see diversity, equity, inclusion, and opportunity on a giant global canvas. That’s why we’re focused on advancing inclusion and allyship, encouraging learning and leadership, and empowering economic opportunity. Our goal is to create more equitable communities where everyone has access to opportunities and support that makes their lives better,” he said to the room of leaders
