Giving back to say thank you

Because members of the military and their families make such a commitment protecting their country and its citizens, many nonprofit organizations dedicate their mission to providing gratitude for their service. FedEx works with several organizations who provide gifts of comfort and joy to these individuals. Whether it’s working with Stockings for Soldiers to send 6,700 holiday stockings filled with hygiene items to those serving overseas or supporting Believe With Me to give nearly 1,000 kids of fallen soldiers Christmas gifts, the ways organizations say thank you are endless.

In addition to gifts, other organizations like Team Rubicon and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation-Hiring Our Heroes, support military members and veterans by helping them find purpose in the workforce. For instance, Team Rubicon’s volunteers are led by veterans and active-duty military members to serve communities impacted by disasters and humanitarian crises. And through the work of U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation-Hiring Our Heroes, the military community is connected to American businesses to create economic opportunity through meaningful employment and build diversity in the workforce. Then there are organizations like The Salvation Army, who offers a range of veteran services, providing comfort, support, counseling, and a home to veterans struggling to find their way after coming back home. The organization provides support to thousands of veterans in need each year.

FedEx also works with the USO to effectively deliver programs and packages to an increasing number of service members and their families each year. As a global organization, the USO manages more than 250 locations around the world and conducts outreach beyond brick and mortar centers to support military training and operations. From transporting furniture for overseas centers, to shipping materials for family and military spouse programs, to delivering care packages and USO2GO kits to deployed troops, FedEx helps the USO provide military families with reminders and comforts of home. Almost 1,000 charitable shipments have supported these efforts this year.

FedEx supports these organizations as a part of the company’s FedEx Cares “Delivering for Good” initiative, in which FedEx uses its global network and logistics expertise to help organizations with mission-critical needs in times of disaster and for special shipments.
