2026 Q3 disaster response
FedEx supports multiple nonprofits that work to help communities recover from natural disasters. By providing charitable donations and in-kind shipping, FedEx continuously helps these organizations deliver critical aid, like medical supplies and meals, to those who need it most.
Through our company’s Delivering for Good program, we work with global disaster relief nonprofit organizations year-round to respond when catastrophes impact communities around the world.
Recently, FedEx and nonprofit organizations it supports have been on the front lines, delivering essentials to help those in need.
Venezuela – Earthquakes
On June 24, 2026, two powerful earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude struck the northern coast of Venezuela just 39 seconds apart. The twin earthquakes caused widespread devastation, particularly around the cities of La Guaira and Caracas, leading to thousands of casualties and leaving many more injured or displaced. The severity of this seismic event, combined with existing humanitarian challenges in the region, has created an urgent need for medical care, food, safe shelter, and other essential supplies.
- Global Empowerment Mission (GEM): FedEx provided an in-kind charter flight from Miami directly to Caracas. The flight transported 4,000 essential necessity kits, expected to support approximately 10,000 people.
- Heart to Heart International: Through coordinated efforts, more than 6,000 hygiene kits were successfully delivered to affected communities. •
- Rise Against Hunger: Transported 900 adult and children's hygiene kits, over-the-counter medications, health supplies, and other emergency relief items. This ongoing support follows the organization's initial response, which included the coordination of 285,120 meals sent via the Port of Miami. •
- American Red Cross: FedEx is a member of the American Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program (ADGP). This investment helps the Red Cross preposition supplies before a disaster strikes and provide emergency response after a crisis occurs. FedEx’s commitment also extends to Red Cross International Services, helping offer hope and comfort to communities around the world. These vital funds support coordinating with the global Red Cross and Red Crescent network to prepare for and respond to emergencies wherever and whenever they occur. Currently, the global Red Cross network is on the ground supporting the Venezuela earthquake response.
- Team Rubicon: Through support of Team Rubicon's Ready Reserve Fund, FedEx supports Team Rubicon's ability to deploy to a disaster zone quickly and serve communities when they need it most.
- Direct Relief: Through FedEx’s longstanding support of Direct Relief’s emergency preparedness program, healthcare providers and first responders around the world are equipped with emergency medical backpacks that can be rapidly deployed when disasters strike. As part of the organization’s response to the Venezuela earthquakes, these backpacks are helping frontline responders deliver medical care in shelters and while reaching displaced communities on foot. Developed in collaboration with emergency physicians, each backpack contains essential medicines, trauma and wound care supplies, diagnostic equipment, and infection control resources, enabling responders to assess, stabilize, and treat patients wherever access to healthcare has been disrupted.
