FedEx wins The SPARK Award for positive impact in Memphis

FedEx became the first two-time recipient of The SPARK Award, which recognizes 13 organizations and individuals who are igniting change and making a positive impact in Memphis, Tennessee. FedEx received the Corporate Award (for over 150 employees) for our team members’ dedication to helping address both short-term critical needs and long-term social challenges, while being committed to helping be a solution for a more prosperous and equitable Memphis.

FedEx earned this recognition for a wide range of community-focused initiatives, which include:

  • Delivering new coats and shoes to students in local schools over the last eight years
  • Piloting the FLY:FWD program (through Operation Warm) to provide over 350 new sports bras to empower success on and off the field
  • Opening the Food and Essentials Hub to serve families and students in a high-poverty area in conjunction with Feed the Children, the Women’s Foundation of Greater Memphis, and Shelby County Schools
  • Engaging with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis to build houses and volunteer at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore

Nominations were accepted from the public, and Rotarians of The Midtown Memphis Rotary Club served as independent judges. The last time FedEx received The SPARK Award was during the inaugural event in 2014.
