FedEx volunteers pack 65,000 meals for Cuba and Cambodia with Rise Against Hunger

More than 240 FedEx Cares volunteers in Toronto and Singapore joined forces with Rise Against Hunger to package 65,000 meals bound for communities in Cuba and Cambodia. This global effort highlights how teamwork and smart logistics can drive meaningful, local impact—uniting around a shared mission to alleviate hunger and support resilient communities.
These meal packaging events were part of our broader collaboration with Rise Against Hunger, a global nonprofit working to end hunger through meal distribution, health and education support, and community resilience. Rise Against Hunger works in many countries, focusing on regions with high food insecurity and addressing both immediate hunger and its root causes.
What Rise Against Hunger does around the world
- Nourishes Lives: Uses volunteer-packaged meals and targeted support, often through school feeding programs, to improve nutrition, education, and health for children and families.
- Empowers Communities: Partners with local leaders to implement sustainable agriculture and income-generating initiatives, helping communities become self-reliant and resilient.
- Responds to Emergencies: Responds quickly to emergencies with ready-to-use food and other aid, while investing in long-term solutions to reduce hunger.
How FedEx helps
Since 2014, FedEx has worked alongside Rise Against Hunger to help end global hunger through three core channels:
- In-Kind Shipping: FedEx provides charitable shipping to help move packaged meals, as well as critical supplies and equipment, enabling timely distribution to schools, clinics, and disaster zones.
- Charitable Funding: Financial support from FedEx helps procure ingredients, packaging, and other resources necessary to address global food insecurity.
- Volunteer Engagement: FedEx team members volunteer in meal packaging campaigns, contributing to hundreds of thousands of meals packaged each year and raising hunger awareness.
