Meet the winners of the 2023 Purple Totes Grant Contest

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Purple Totes Grant Contest. More than 3,200 team members collected and donated over 4,700 totes worldwide! Now it is time to meet our winners of the contest and learn about the nonprofits they supported. Each of these nonprofits will receive a $5,000 USD grant.

Small Division First Place Winner: PISA Team

The PISA Team based in Quercianella, Italy, featured a nine-person team that helped donate nine totes to the Casa Papa Francesco. Casa Papa Francesco is a family-sized educational community established in 2015 in Quercianella - Livorno, Italy. The House welcomes children from birth to 16 years of age and was designed and built with the wellbeing of the children in mind, valuing contact with nature and providing ample space for playtime and socialization, while giving support for their daily material needs.

Medium Division First Place Winner: Paws for a Cause

Paws for a Cause is a team of 15 FedEx employees out of Salt Lake City, Utah, who donated 65 totes to the Humane Society of Utah. The Humane Society of Utah is the biggest open-admission welfare organization in the state. Humane Society has a goal to eliminate pain, fear, and suffering for all animals. The 15-person team helped to bring in food, treats, blankets, towels, and 24 oversized items that the Humane Society can use for the animals.

Large Division First Place Winner: FedEx ACC

FedEx ACC in Hyderabad, India donated more than 260 totes to the ASRITHA Rainbow Home. This team was made up of over 200+ FedEx employees. ASRITHA Rainbow Home is a nonprofit in India whose focus is to help young girls living in the streets of Hyderabad. The Rainbow House offers these young girls opportunities to learn about proper nutrition, basic education, and social skills. Our employees donated over 2,204 lbs. of groceries and 1,700 hygiene products.
 

Now it’s your turn – pick your favorite for the People’s Choice Awards

Starting today through Feb. 1, FedEx team members can select the teams they think should win one of our three People’s Choice Awards from the following categories: Most Creative, Most Impactful, and Most Engaging.  The nonprofit of the winning team will receive a $5,000 USD grant.

We’ll announce these winners on Feb. 15.

Note: Award of the grant for nonprofits that do not have a U.S. affiliate and are not a registered Canadian charity are subject to final vetting and approval by CAF America.
