Congratulations to the Picture Proof of Planting contest winners

FedEx Cares is delighted to announce the winners of the second Picture Proof of Planting photo contest. We received more than 250 photos this year, which we narrowed down to 15 finalists. Now, after counting nearly 2,000 votes, it is time to meet the five winning teams and the nonprofits that will be receiving $10,000 USD grants.

Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy (Pittsburgh, PA, U.S.): The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy is a community-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring, enhancing, and protecting Pittsburgh's parks. The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy invests in the revitalization of neighborhood green spaces, hosts a robust array of wellness-focused public programs, beautifies park gardens, restores the ecological health of the urban forest, and inspires people of all ages through nature-based environmental education programs. The Conservancy’s mission is to ensure that Pittsburgh's parks are vibrant, accessible, and sustainable green spaces that enrich the lives of present and future generations.

Trees4Trees (Jakarta, Indonesia): Trees4Trees is an Indonesian-based nonprofit organization focused on community-based reforestation and sustainable forestry. Trees4Trees works directly with local farmers and communities to plant trees, restore degraded land, and create long-term environmental and social benefits. Their mission is to empower people to improve their environment and livelihoods through responsible tree planting.

Green Columbus (Columbus, OH, U.S.): Green Columbus is a sustainability-focused nonprofit striving to engage volunteers, grow tree canopy coverage, and foster more climate resilient communities. Green Columbus engages with residents, businesses, and community leaders to organize impactful initiatives, including the nation's largest Earth Day volunteer service project, community tree plantings, and educational forums. Green Columbus’ mission is to empower individuals to take local action, raise awareness, and foster a healthier, more sustainable environment for all.

Nación Verde (Tijuana, Mexico): Nación Verde (NV) is an independent organization dedicated to answering the call for environmental action by restoring and reforesting forest ecosystems with native plants. NV leads large-scale reforestation efforts, focusing on ecological restoration and conservation via direct collaboration with local communities, especially indigenous communities in Mexico. The mission of Nación Verde is to plant trees, restore nature and the biodiversity it supports, and empowering people to thrive in harmony with nature for a greener, more prosperous future.

Fundación Tlaloc A.C (Santiago Tlacotepec, Mexico): Fundación Tlaloc A.C. is a Mexican nonprofit organization designed to foster environmental citizenship and sustainability. The Fundacion team works every day to help create a more sustainable Mexico. Their mission is to be a life project for those who participate, empowering individuals and communities to build a more environmentally conscious and sustainable future.
