People to People Food Bank 2019
FedEx team members from the Metro North and Palisades Districts made a tremendous contribution on our United Way FedEx Cares Day to the People to People Food Bank in Nanuet, NY. As one united team we were able to donate 25 purple tote bags that totaled 170 pounds of food valued at $476. The day was spent helping to sort, stock and manage the items onto the pantry shelves, sorting and organizing clothing donations as well as help organize their mailroom.
People to People is Rockland County’s largest food pantry working to help struggling Rocklanders through difficult times with dignity through its programs including: Food Pantry, It's In The Bag, Clothes Closet, Back To School With Dignity, Talk Turkey Project and Project Joy! & Joy! Store. Last year, People to People provided assistance to nearly 14,000 Rockland households. The single mother, the senior citizen, the veteran who comes to People to People — they all could be someone you know. Life’s circumstances can change quickly – the loss of a job, the sudden death of a spouse, a tragic accident – can cause a drastic change in one’s ability to put food on the table and make ends meet. People to People is proud of its fiscal stewardship. More than 95% of all donations go directly to providing programs and services. Less than 5% of funds raised are spent on operations.
