FedEx Volunteers Deliver Support to Communities In Areas of Japan

TOKYO, December 6, 2018 – As part of the global FedEx Cares initiative held each year, employees of FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), volunteered in Japan to help restore the local environment.

121 volunteers participated in collecting trash, cleaning up the streets and parks near FedEx offices and facilities in nine areas across Japan: Saitama, Tokyo, Aichi (Nagoya and Toyohashi), Mie, Kyoto, Kanagawa, Osaka, and Okayama. The activities resulted in the collecting of 466.3-kilogram trash.

FedEx Invests in Education of Young South Africans with Gift to Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls

JOHANNESBURG, December 6, 2018 – FedEx Express, the world’s largest express transportation company and a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) has donated US$ 90,000 to the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation. The donation will be utilized by the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation to provide scholarships for tertiary studies to eligible students who have graduated from the Academy.

The donation marks the fifth year that FedEx has contributed to the development of young girls through this foundation.

While doing their best to enjoy the night’s festivities, the group kept a close eye on the developing weather situation. The rain intensified as Hurricane Harvey grew more powerful and settled over the Houston region.

Two grizzly and two brown bear cubs recently made their way from Anchorage, Alaska to Oakland, Calif. aboard a FedEx Express jet.
