The Sales Team-Team Catawba decided to help the Children's Attention Home this year. I discovered the Children's Attention home because my mother's church group was making blankets. She told me they were for a children's home in Rock Hill, SC because these children are removed on the spur of the moment, in the middle of the night or at any time from an unsafe situation at home. They are not allowed to take anything with them and of course they are often terrified at being taken from their homes. The blankets are to give them some type of comfort.

Newark YMCA

Dec 12, 2016

We were trying to find the right location for our FedEx Cares Day when the Newark YMCA was suggested as an option. For 135 years, the Newark YMCA has served the community by providing programs for health, housing, recreation, and education. Upon visiting the Y and meeting their dedicated staff, there was no question that the FedEx team had to help! When we realized the number of homeless people they provide housing to, we knew we had to use our Purple Tote Bag Campaign to provide assistance.

Orlando Local volunteer and collected donations to The Village, a transitional home for young adults that are 18-23 years old who have become too old to continue living under foster care. The Village helps these people by teaching them life skills and empowering them to support themselves as they transition to adulthood while also providing them with shelter. When the young men and women the charity houses gain enough self reliance and feel emotionally ready, the charity will then help the young adults find an apartment they can call home.

Team Atlantic delivers

Dec 9, 2016

Team Atlantic visited Harwood Center, a school for children with special needs. This is such a great school serving the community for artistic children with special needs. We also have a team member who had a child to go there and therefore really understand their needs and the greatness of services provided. We spent time with the children during arts and crafts by painting rocks, singing Christmas carols and played games with the children. Each team member was paired up with a child, and they all had a great time.
