90,500 hours

volunteered by FedEx Team Members during the fall FedEx Cares campaign

Dec 13, 2016

On Oct. 18, 2016 at the FedEx Cares BBQ/United Way Event, a total of 200.00 & 15 Purple Tote Bags were filled with groceries & donated to the non-profit Loaves and Fishes. Loaves & Fishes is a private charity; it neither solicits nor accepts government money, but relies solely on private donations to support its work of feeding the hungry and sheltering the homeless. Without passing judgment, and in a spirit of love and hospitality, Loaves & Fishes feeds the hungry and shelters the homeless.

FedEx Ground in Portland Maine has worked with Contractors, Package Handlers and Office staff to rise as many cans of food for the Saco Food Pantry, located within our own town of Saco, Maine. The charity organization has been around since 1982, and they are focused on providing both short-term and long-term assistance for people in need in Saco by providing them food they might not be able to access on their own. The staff of volunteers that help run the facility provide food for over 8,000 people a year!

Food Bank of Western NY

Dec 13, 2016

The Food Bank of WNY provides food and services to 329 member agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, senior centers, after-school programs, and group homes, throughout Cattaraugus, Chau¬tauqua, Erie, and Niagara counties. In 2015, they distributed enough food to provide more than 12 million meals. Hunger remains a serious problem in Western New York, even when the economy feels better to many of us. Many people who need food assistance are employed, but just aren’t able to make ends meet.

The Sales Team-Team Catawba decided to help the Children's Attention Home this year. I discovered the Children's Attention home because my mother's church group was making blankets. She told me they were for a children's home in Rock Hill, SC because these children are removed on the spur of the moment, in the middle of the night or at any time from an unsafe situation at home. They are not allowed to take anything with them and of course they are often terrified at being taken from their homes. The blankets are to give them some type of comfort.
