We are so fortunate for the things we have in our life, and Thanksgiving is an opportunity to reflect on who to give thanks to. However, there are children in our community that go home from school on Friday and have nothing to eat until they return to school Monday morning. The Central Alabama District wanted to give these kids a happy thanksgiving, and decided to help them by helping Feed the Valley Food Bank.

Mother Teresa said, “It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.” Members of Team Lighthouse from Memphis, TN put a lot of love into assisting the Food Bank. The team really connected with the food bank's mission to change lives by eliminating hunger in the Mid-South. By providing food for families, children, and seniors, the food bank impacts the lives of the community by solving one of the biggest struggles they face: getting enough nutritious food to eat in order to live a healthy life.

Habitat For Humanity Blount County

Nov 30, 2016

On October 22nd a group of individuals wanted to give back to the community by helping the Blount County, TN Habitat for Humanity office. Habitat gets many volunteers to go out in the community to refurbish, paint and construct homes which leaves precious little time for the office to be maintained. This collection of volunteers from FedEx Freight at the KNX center asked what we could do to help and help free up time for them. Along with the executive director of Habitat for Humanity in Blount county Kathy Jackson we took on the challenge of painting their office building for them.
