Volunteerism: The Core of FedEx Cares

90,500 hours

volunteered by FedEx Team Members during the fall FedEx Cares campaign

Giving back is part of the FedEx culture. Team members support our charitable investments and local community needs by dedicating their time where they live and work around the world. Volunteerism is more than a one-time event or delivery.

UM, YWCA, RMH Donation Delivery - Purple Tote Bag Story Contest Finalist

Dec 20, 2016

The time has come once again, when the Technical Operations Aircraft Engineering (A/C Eng.) employees open their hearts as well as their wallets to help support those in need. This year, A/C Eng. collected and donated over 300 FedEx Purple Tote Bags filled to the top with supplies that aid not one, but three United Way affiliated charities. This year’s focus groups for the Air Operations Purple Totes were Memphis Union Mission, Ronald McDonald House, and the YWCA.

Nebraska District helps the Ronald McDonald House

Dec 19, 2016

The Nebraska District Field Sales Team donated Purple Tote Bags to both the Ronald McDonald House Charities & Girls Inc. During FedEx Cares week, the team had the opportunity to volunteer at both facilities and felt it was important to fill or Purple Tote Bags with much needed items for both charities. The Ronald McDonald house is an important charity because they provide a home away from home for families who need to take their child to a hospital out of state.

FedEx Delivers

Dec 18, 2016

On October 17, I had the pleasure of volunteering at Texas Children's Hospital. The Periwinkle Foundation aids in the upkeep of the Arts In Medicine program there, where all art forms are offered and presented to the children receiving treatment for cancer/blood disease. Art has proven to heal many ailments and being able to play a role in helping children and their caretakers to enjoy as much of the day as possible is a blessing, indeed.

Next Step Shelter December

Dec 18, 2016

Every month, the ZHON station in Hawaii gathers up their recyclable and donates them to the Next Step Shelter. The Next Step Shelter is an organization connected to the Waikiki Health Center in Honolulu that provides a home for over 200 people that do not have a place to stay. The charity provides a place to live, food, and used clothing to these families as well as couples and singles staying there as well. They also provide 20 hour tutoring services for their inhabitants as well.
