The NY West team was honored to serve the hungry of New York City at Trinity’s Services and Food for the Homeless in the heart of the East Village. They do not turn away any homeless person in need, as they provide them with a reliable source of food with good nutrition, and by providing connections to other services as well. The charity serves around 200,000 meals every year.

Lewis & Clark District Partners with the Little Bit Foundation

Dec 7, 2016

When it was time for FedEx Cares in 2016, the Lewis and Clark District didn’t have any trouble deciding who we wanted to help with the Purple Tote program. Our team had volunteered at an organization in St. Louis called The Little Bit Foundation earlier in the year and we were all very impressed with what this group was doing for children in St. Louis schools. The Little Bit Foundation partners with public and private schools from elementary to high school in St. Louis to ensure that all the children have their basic needs met so they can focus on their education.

Safety Donates to House of Hope

Dec 7, 2016

The safety department researched many organizations before deciding to choose House of Hope as our charity to support in the FedEx Cares Purple Tote Bag program. We contacted House of Hope to understand their needs of blankets, toilet paper, and coffee. We felt the needs of House of Hope often go unrecognized in our area due to the much larger charity organizations in the area. The individuals that come to a homeless day center come in because of a wide array of circumstances. Some clients come in because they recently lost their home, their job, or their vehicle.

Care Packet

Dec 7, 2016

This year, our team of FedEx Ground employees located in Montgomery, Al decided to help our local United Way center as part of the FedEx Cares United Way Campaign. Our reason behind helping them this year is due to our consistent participation in their events. We contacted the local United Way and found out that they were giving away care packets to those families in need for Thanksgiving. To help with the effort, employees donated imperishable items and placed them in a box and then once the Purple Tote Bags arrived, we distributed the items evenly in each bag.
