FedEx Freight Memphis Headquarters Assists the YWCA-Memphis Family Shelter

Team members at FedEx Freight Memphis Headquarters donated their time and items to the YWCA-Memphis Family Shelter. The YWCA- Memphis Family Shelter provides a safe haven for women who are victims of domestic violence and homelessness. FedEx Freight team members volunteered their time between both indoor and outdoor service projects by cleaning and organizing the children’s library, and sorting items in the clothes closet and several playrooms. Volunteers also helped with landscaping and mulched the shelter’s playground.

SHVA Helps Shriner’s Hospital for Children

On December 15th, 2016, SHVA (Shreveport, LA) Station Managers and employees assembled numerous Purple Tote Bags stuffed with Teddy Bears, arts and crafts items, coloring books, crayons, paint brushes, etc. for all the children in the Burn Unit at Shriner’s Hospital for Children. The Hospital specializes in burn injuries and has been a leader in burn care, research and education since opening in the mid-1960s. Thanks to the cutting-edge medical care provided at these hospitals, every year thousands of children have a greater chance of surviving from all types of burn injuries.

ZMNS 449 GIVES BACK

Our team, ZMNS 449, chose the local Salvation Army because of the many services they offer. They help with those that have been displaced by natural disasters, give rent and utility assistance when needed, and will provide families in need with emergency food boxes based on their family size that should last them for approximately 3 days. They serve hot lunches to the needy one week out of each month serving 12,180 meals served last year. They ensure needy families get Thanksgiving boxes and Christmas presents for the area children.

NY East Field Sales Team decided to work with The Waverly School of the Arts for our Purple Tote Bag project. It was an easy decision once we learned of all the great things happening there.

Food and Supply Drive for Gateway Social Services Organization

The FXG Birmingham team from FedEx Ground decided to help provide much needed items to one of the oldest social service agencies in the Birmingham area, The Gateway Social Services Organization. This non-profit organization has been helping thousands of families for 125 years by providing assistance in the areas of family counseling, financial coaching, transitional living, crisis intervention, and therapeutic foster care. Their main mission is to help create stronger communities by empowering the people they serve.
