volunteered by FedEx Team Members during the fall FedEx Cares campaign

FedEx Ground Walks A Mile in Her Shoes

Oct 27, 2018

2018 is the 4th year in a row that FedEx Ground has supported the Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event here in Hilo. This is an international, annual event, with marches across the world. Men and women come out to walk a mile – the men in their high heels, the women in whatever shoes they see fit – to bring awareness to the serious issue of raising funds to support those victims of rape, sexual assault and gender violence and try to bring an end to these problems.

ZBOI at the Rescue Mission

Oct 24, 2018

ZBOI had a tremendous opportunity to serve at the Boise Rescue Mission Women’s Facility. The Mission provides care for homeless women with and without children, as well as those transitioning from dangerous living situations who are looking for a place to restart their lives.

Throughout the evening we had opportunities to interact with staff as well as with a woman who is in the program. We learned about the strength of the human heart to push beyond circumstances in search of finding hope, healing and recovery.

Smoky Mountain Children's Home - Day of Caring for Smoky Mountain District

Oct 24, 2018

When our team was trying to decide what we wanted to do for our Day of Caring, we knew we wanted to do something for children, specifically, children in our community. We chose to volunteer and to give to the Smoky Mountain Children's Home in Sevierville, TN. We split into teams (Sales Team with Services plus some from other OPCOs) and built a fire pit, did some yard work, and pulled up old flooring.
