FedEx Cares Moore Elementary School Garden - Grand Prairie, TX

On Saturday May 13, 2017, team members from the DFW metro gathered at Moore Elementary in Grand Prairie, TX and volunteered in their garden. Volunteers from FedEx Freight and FedEx Office were able to get the school garden weeded, furniture painted, flowers planted and a wisteria plant trimmed. It was a great day to be able to give back to our community, we were joined by Grand Prairie Independent School District's Teacher of the Year - Kandice Davis, Area Superintendent - Traci Davis and School Board Member - David Espinosa.

Volunteering with Joseph's Storehouse

On Thursday, April 27th, the FedEx Ground East Nashville/382 Station volunteered at Joseph’s Storehouse in Lebanon, TN. Joseph’s Storehouse is an organization just 15 minutes away from the station where they distribute food to the elderly, disabled, low income, and single parents. The East Nashville group spent the day sorting out food into boxes and wheelbarrows, then loading the recipients’ cars. It was a wonderful day being able to meet the individuals in need, hearing their stories, and being able to assist them in getting the necessary items that they need.

FedEx Keeps Indianapolis Beautiful

Employees of FedEx Ground, Smart Post, Express, Freight, Office, and Services were proud to team up with the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful. For the 8th Annual FedEx Cares day event celebrating Arbor Day, 93 employees volunteered to plant 77 trees in the Pleasant Run Watershed. This project will improve water quality and increase habitat for native plants and wildlife, creating a beautiful, healthy asset to revitalize the city. It will also help reconnect neighbors to their waterways.

Teaming Up in South Park

On a blustery spring day, team members in the Seattle market gathered for a FedEx Cares project in support of the Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition/Technical Advisory Group. They performed general trail maintenance such as clipping blackberry bushes, pulling invasive weeds and removing litter from the 8th Avenue Trail in the South Park neighborhood. This urban trail is a vital connector providing elementary school students access to their local library.

FedEx volunteers build garden, outdoor learning area at Memphis school

More than 100 volunteers spent time building a community garden and outdoor learning area at Kingsbury elementary and high school in Memphis on Monday, April 10th.

Volunteers from FedEx, Kingsbury's garden club and Wolf River Conservancy got to complete the projects at the two schools. They built limestone parkways, bird and bat houses, a compost bin, and much more.

The project is part of a grant program sponsored by FedEx and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation designed to protect and restore plants, fish, wildlife, and habitats across the country.
