Sometimes, you get to sow what you reap
They say that you reap what you sow, but sometimes you get to sow what you reap. That is the power of giving back.
Adam is the youngest child of a Fedex team member, and was born with a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. Approximately half of the children born with CDH survive, but due to the severity of his defect, Adam was only given a 10% chance of leaving the hospital alive. Adam beat those odds, though it would have never been possible without the help of others. The FAST Rating and Tracking Services team in Uniontown, Ohio chose to give back to CHERUBS, a charity who helped Adam beat the odds.
CHERUBS is the world’s first and largest CDH non-profit organization. Their mission is to help families affected by Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia by providing support to families, funding research, and raising awareness throughout the world. One way they do this is by sending care packages to parents of CDH babies. Last year, the team donated items for those care packages. This year, the team donated funds to help with the cost of putting those packages in the hands of the families who need them.
Not only has the team fulfilled the mission of CHERUBS by helping families, but they’ve fulfilled it by becoming more aware of CDH and the CHERUBS organization itself. The team gets to have similar impact on countless families who may choose to do the same. That is the power of giving back.
