SHVA Helps Shriner’s Hospital for Children
On December 15th, 2016, SHVA (Shreveport, LA) Station Managers and employees assembled numerous Purple Tote Bags stuffed with Teddy Bears, arts and crafts items, coloring books, crayons, paint brushes, etc. for all the children in the Burn Unit at Shriner’s Hospital for Children. The Hospital specializes in burn injuries and has been a leader in burn care, research and education since opening in the mid-1960s. Thanks to the cutting-edge medical care provided at these hospitals, every year thousands of children have a greater chance of surviving from all types of burn injuries.
The hospital was so excited the SHVA employees were coming. The employees of the Shriner Hospital could not stop thanking the team. When the children woke up from surgery, stuffed animals were waiting for them in their beds. This was a very rewarding experience for all. The SHVA employees and managers left with warm hearts and an experience to cherish forever. Helping others is something the SHVA employees love doing and are looking forward to making this event bigger and better each year.
