Lewis & Clark District Partners with the Little Bit Foundation

Dec 7, 2016

When it was time for FedEx Cares in 2016, the Lewis and Clark District didn’t have any trouble deciding who we wanted to help with the Purple Tote program. Our team had volunteered at an organization in St. Louis called The Little Bit Foundation earlier in the year and we were all very impressed with what this group was doing for children in St. Louis schools. The Little Bit Foundation partners with public and private schools from elementary to high school in St. Louis to ensure that all the children have their basic needs met so they can focus on their education. The Little Bit Foundation sets up boutiques in the schools where their services are needed so that children can come in and get things like socks, underwear, coats, clothing and uniforms, shoes, books, coats and toiletries. They also offer laundry services in these boutiques for families who do not have access to a washer and dryer. Volunteers from the organization work with liaisons at the schools to identify the children in need and make the experience fun for the children who come through the boutique.

The Lewis & Clark District collected socks and underwear for the Little Bit Foundation inside our Purple Tote Bags because those were the items that the organization needs most. We are proud we were able to help out such a great organization!
