House of Mercy

House of Mercy

Dec 8, 2016

The House of Mercy is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2005 in Bristow, Virginia by Father Jack Fullen and Kellie Ross. What began as a prayer-centered ministry evolved into a movement of mercy where volunteers joined in prayer and service to relieve the suffering of the underprivileged, sick, and dying by performing the spiritual and corporal works of mercy. FedEx Freight Manassas selected House of Mercy, because they are a humanitarian organization dedicated to serving the hungry and anyone needing solace and care. In addition to Food, they offer free and low-cost clothing/shoes, life and financial mentoring, job search training, spiritual care, volunteer opportunities, hope, and smiles.

This was the first year for FedEx Freight Manassas to participate in delivering Purple Tote Bags. With that being said, we did fill 8 Purple Tote Bags for The House of Marcy and had participation from all work groups: city, road, dock, office, and management. We are hoping to build off this wonderful experience and make it an even bigger event next year. This was a great experience for the FedEx Freight team here in Manassas. The contributions by our team members help our selected charity in a much needed time of the year when holidays are approaching.
