I created this quilt from T-Shirts I collected over the years, and a few that were donated by co-workers. The idea for the quilt came about because we were participating in a multi-cultural event in Phoenix. I wanted to make something that would represent the many different ‘cultures’ of FedEx. The quilt now hangs in the entry of the Phoenix Call Center and I am proud to have created a piece of artwork that contains so many memories

OpCo:  FedEx TechConnect1. What is your favorite/strongest memory about your first job at FedEx?

I remember how nervous I was as a new hire. While I was in training I'd come to the
Call Center on Saturdays on my own time to get extra monitor time. I knew I would succeed if I just studied enough and got enough experience. I knew I'd made it when I
applied for and got the special assignment as Tour Guide of the call center.

My 40 Story

Wednesday, April 17, 2013 - 9:56am

In 2003, I was living in sunny Southern California. One day I was driving to a meeting 30 miles away. A series of freeway accidents stretched that drive to 3 hours. Coming home that afternoon, yet more freeway trouble kept me in the car for over 4 more hours. More than 7 hours to drive 60 round-trip miles. I began job searching that very day.
