Hopelink Food Bank
A manager from Bellevue, WA realized that they had purchased food supplies to prepare meals over the course of the week and by Friday had realized there was a lot left over that was going to go to waste. This team member reached out to their local BSF team and found a food bank in Bellevue, WA that could take all the excess supplies, Hopelink.
Since 1971, Hopelink has served homeless and low-income families, children, seniors, and people with disabilities in North and East King County; providing stability and helping people gain the skills and knowledge they need to exit poverty for good. Hopelink also provides transportation services throughout King and Snohomish Counties. With service centers in Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland, Shoreline, and Sno-Valley (Carnation), Hopelink is the largest nonprofit organization in the area. Programs and services focus on nine categories of assistance: Adult Education, Emergency Financial Help, Employment Services, Energy Assistance, Family Development, Financial Literacy, Food Assistance, Housing and Transportation. Hopelink serves about 64,000 people annually to help them escape poverty.
Our team ended up filling over 30 Purple Tote Bags filled with food and delivered them to Hopelink. It is thanks to vital donations like these that families in need living in Washington will be able to have access to food during the holiday season.
