Colonial District Prepares "Redi-Bags" for Pediatric Cancer Patients

Oct 24, 2017

The Mid-Atlantic Region, Colonial Sales District, participated in our FedEx Cares Day on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Roc Solid Foundation. Roc Solid Foundation assists families with pediatric cancer patients. Roc Solid Ready Bags are given to families on the worst day of their lives… the day they find out their child has cancer. Their battle often starts that day, with their child being admitted to start treatment, and everything else comes to a screeching halt.

Ready Bags include everything a family might need for their unexpected hospital stay – toiletries, a blanket, a prepaid debit card, a journal, a tablet and more. These essentials are helpful, but we hope they also send a message to each family that they are not alone as they begin this journey.

This is Roc Solid’s first step toward building hope in a situation nobody ever hopes to face.

As a team we were able to write notes to the children, fill "Redi-Bags", filled our Purple Totes with supplies to donate, and help out in the warehouse. Words cannot describe the impact that day had on us...knowing that our completed Redi-Bag was being shipped to a newly diagnosed child with cancer. It really put things in perspective! Being able to help someone is one of the greatest gifts we have to give as we never know when we will be on the receiving end.

Roc Solid foundation not only fills "Redi-bags" but also builds swing sets and room makeovers for the children. I highly recommend this organization!
