FedEx Supports Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition on Little Wishes Shopping Day
Little Wishes Shopping Day - FedEx Cares has partnered with the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition on Little Wishes Shopping Day every year since the very beginning - 12 years and counting! It would not be possible without the support and volunteers of FedEx Employees. What we love about this partnership is that the same FedEx employees volunteer year after year on Shopping Day. Many of them bring their families – the event is truly a “Holiday Tradition” for lots of FedEx and St. Louis families and it continues to grow. It is really special to have that connection with the community. KSDK News channel 5 participates and reports on the event every year. They follow a gift from start to finish ending with the FedEx delivery. This year we had 36 volunteers and over 106 volunteer hours. This year FedEx really went above and beyond, granting a much larger wish, donating $5000 to the cause. There are so many people to thank, but I have to mention Mike Walker and Jeanie Adams. Jeanie organizes and coordinates the volunteers and Mike organizes the event from start to finish by gathering shipping supplies, coordinating the trucks and drivers, and stays at the event from start to finish organizing and encouraging the volunteers, gets the SmartPost labels printed for shipping and works directly with Foster and Adoptive Care. We sold out of wishes by 11:30! That's 500 Little Wishes granted in 90 minutes! The enthusiasm that FedEx brings to this event is unbelievable, and we are so grateful for their continued support! This event takes place first Saturday of December every year in Kirkwood, MO. Hope to see you next year to grant the wish of a child in foster care.
