FedEx Pledges $1 Million to Support Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) has committed $1 million in cash and transportation support to deliver critical medical aid and supplies in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.  FedEx is proud to support disaster relief efforts through our humanitarian organization relationships with American Red Cross, Direct Relief, Heart to Heart International, Salvation Army and Team Rubicon.

This collaboration is part of the FedEx Cares  “Delivering for Good” initiative.  The company uses its expertise in shipping and logistics to connect organizations, communities and individuals with the resources they need through charitable shipping and cash donations.

Polish Community Welcomes Game-Changing Delivery from FedEx

FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, enters its third season as Main Sponsor of the UEFA Europa League with a second game-changing delivery already under its belt.

Since becoming main sponsor of the competition in 2016, FedEx has collaborated with the UEFA Foundation for Children and global not-for-profit streetfootballworld on a program of community projects using football as a platform for social change.

Following a successful initiative in Madrid, FedEx funded a second “Field in a Box™” – an artificial turf football pitch delivered in two shipping containers to the town of Mrągowo, north-east Poland. The local community took ownership of the pitch at an opening ceremony on 31 August 2017.

FedEx Express Mentors Future Leaders in One-Day Job Shadow Program

TOKYO, August 28, 2017—FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), conducted a one-day job shadow program for 15 students from Josho Gakuen Senior High School (Osaka City) on August 24 at the FedEx North Pacific Regional (NPAC) Hub located at Kansai International Airport.

Since 2007, FedEx has regularly conducted the job shadow program in conjunction with Junior Achievement Japan, an economic education organization, which aims to train young people with the skills they need to go out into the workforce.

During the program, students shadowed FedEx employees in Customs clearance and supporting team, operations (transshipment management and checking), Engineering and Air operations for a day. These employees, who work at one of the major hubs in the FedEx global network, shared about their work and roles well as the importance of teamwork and their responsibility to FedEx customers.

Memphis Minority Businesses Anticipate Big Gains From Free Program

What do the owners of a staffing agency, a corrugated box broker and a graphic design/marketing agency have in common?  They are among the 100-plus Memphis business accepted for the 2017 Inner City Capital Connections (ICCC) program.

ICCC is a program of the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) that provides urban businesses with the tools needed for long-term success. The 40-hour ICCC program offers an interactive curriculum, intensive coaching sessions and a capital matching conference where participants can market their company, network with peers and meet potential investors. 

Since its launch in 2005, ICCC alumni have created over 12,000 jobs, raised $1.4 billion in capital and grown revenues by an average of 184%.
